The painting of my brother is almost complete. In these progress images you can see how I began to work on this painting. I'll post the final painting soon.
Rendez - the lighting was definitely difficult to deal with, both inside and outside the room. I had to change lights in the hallway to provide more light, and at certain times I needed to put lights behind me to shine more light on the canvas. The cold blue light in the room also took a lot of adjusting, though I created numerous painting studies of the scene, before starting the final work, to help me understand the light and color.
Yea I see how it would be easy for the blue light to give you almost a monochromatic painting if you didn't plan it out properly. Great job adjusting to it!
