These paintings are from a commission I recently finished. The first piece was a study I painted on location to create the finished work in the studio.
I love seeing the difference between finished work and the sketch. What I like about your sketch is the unified shapes of the darker and lighter values, but then again I like how you pushed the contrast in the finished piece. I can see how you tried to balance it out... Lovely picture, lovely composition, lovely values:)
